  • About 1936

1936 refers to the year our roastery was founded and serves as a perfect introduction to our range of specialty coffees.

To temporarily replace our current 1936 offering, we have chosen Rancho Grande, which provides a similar flavor profile with notes of orange, caramel, and dark chocolate. The farm’s production began in 1933 when Aneite Reis inherited 5 hectares of land at an altitude of 970 meters. Today, the farm is managed by José Carlos Reis and his son Flavio, the son and grandson of Aneite Reis, respectively.

The primary goal of this farm is to produce high-quality coffee while prioritizing environmental protection and the well-being of its employees. Rancho Grande’s producers are quite forward-thinking, having invested in multiple static drying boxes to enhance the quality of the cherries they cultivate. They have consistently worked hard to maintain the quality standards of the specialty coffee market, from cultivation to harvesting and post-harvest processing.

This lot undergoes natural processing. The coffee beans are sent to static drying boxes, where they dry at 29°C for 16 days. Afterward, they rest for 31 days before being hulled and transported to their warehouse at COCATREL. There, they are placed on a drying patio for 2 to 3 days before reaching us.

You can enjoy this coffee every day in our coffeeshops as an espresso.
If you're looking for more adventurous flavor profiles, we recommend exploring our single-origin coffees.
